Welcome to another episode of Agents of Change International, together we are a global movement aiming to make the bad good and the good better, by so doing we enact certain principles and delve into elements that make up our lives.
Today’s episode highlights the importance of coming together as one. (UNITY)
What is unity?
The state of being united or joined as a whole.
A state in this context means the particular conditon of a particular person or thing at a specific time.
The relevance of unity is so enormous and powerful like Michael Jackon’s “heal the world let’s make it a better place”. It takes the characteristics of being at unity to have different persons become one to enhance livelihood in peace and harmony in the direction God expects of us.
What Unity Means to Us
Unity is more than just a word; it’s a commitment to respect, inclusion, and collaboration. It’s about fostering an environment where every voice is heard, every perspective valued, and every individual empowered to thrive. It’s through unity that we create meaningful connections, build bridges across differences, and achieve collective goals.
John 17:21 reads, “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me,” the bible scripture here emphasizes something. At times it’s not just being at unity with your neighbor that is the unity, but being at unity with Christ within, if we are one in Christ, we will have unity with one another.
Irrespective of the reality of life, the brokenness, ensure to have yourself unified with Christ. Like the story of Job in the Bible, he lost it all but was unified with Christ.
Why is Unity so important?
My Answer: Because of its ripple effect!
Do you know what we can achieve when we are united? Bible instances such as the Babylon tower, walls of Jericho and lots more.
As Agents of change, How do we make a united nation of us?
By emulating the lifetysle of the teachings of the bible on how to be practical with unity.
- 1 Corinthians 1:10: “I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
- Humility, hospitality, convener of Christ
- 1 Peter 3:8: Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
When you’re able to practice this within then you can affect your neighbor with a positive mind to be unified with you, with the world and with Christ.
Finally by prayers It actually does not happen by your power or your level of education or consciousness but by the divine spirit of the lord.
Unity stands for peace in the presence of conflict; for love in the presence of hatred; for forgiveness in the presence of injury. Unity honors the many names for God, the many paths to God, the many ways to worship God; for there is only one power and presence of God and that God loves each one of us equally.
