Winners have emerged in the 76th Emmy Awards, held in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Announcing the winners in an X post #TelevisionAcad on Monday, Television Academy wrote, “Congratulations to all of tonight’s #Emmy winners! View the full list of winners and stream the 76th #Emmys on @hulu. #Emmys #TelevisionAcademy”

The Primetime Emmy Awards, commonly referred to as the Emmys, are an annual ceremony that celebrates outstanding achievements in American primetime television.

Established by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) in 1949, the awards recognise excellence in various categories, including acting, writing, directing, and technical achievements across genres such as drama, comedy, and limited series.

Divided into two ceremonies—the Primetime Emmys and the Creative Arts Emmys—the awards honour performances, shows, and technical achievements in categories like acting, writing, and directing. Winning an Emmy is a significant career milestone, boosting the reputation of shows and talent alike.

Over the years, the Emmys have grown to become one of the most prestigious awards in television, alongside the Oscars for film and the Grammys for music. Winning an Emmy can significantly boost a show’s reputation and the careers of the talent involved.

FX’s ‘Shogun’ dominated the night, setting a new record with 18 Emmys, including Best Drama, Best Actor, and Best Actress.

HBO’s ‘Hacks’ pulled off a surprise win for Best Comedy Series, while Netflix’s hit ‘Baby Reindeer’ claimed the Best Limited Series title.

Also during the ceremony, the Governor’s Award was presented to Greg Berlanti by Matt Bomer and Joshua Jackson.

Eugene and Dan Levy hosted the 76th annual festivities, which aired live on ABC from L.A.’s Peacock Theater.
